From Donor To Issue
Donor-to-issue blood bank management
Relite Blood Bank manages a transfusion service end to end: donor registration and camps, collection, testing, component preparation, cross-match, and requisition and issue to hospitals.
Statutory registers, inventory, accounting and HR sit alongside the clinical workflow, so the same system that tracks a bag also produces the records an inspection asks for.
What Gets In The Way
A blood bank must be able to trace any issued bag back to its donor, its tests and its components — and produce the statutory register for it on demand. Split that across a clinical log and a separate account book and traceability becomes a manual reconstruction.
Every Step Of The Chain
- Blood Collection — Donor registration, sample and blood collection vouchers.
- Testing — Sample testing, blood grouping and donor test vouchers.
- Component Preparation — Component preparation and whole-blood conversion.
- Cross-Match — Cross-match data capture and printable forms.
- Requisition & Issue — Requisition and issue, with and without replacement.
- Blood Masters — Blood groups, components, bag types and tests.
- Statutory Registers — Collection, grouping, sample test, cross-match and stock registers.
- Inventory — Goods receipt, consumption, stock transfer and item rates.
- Accounting — Groups, ledgers and voucher entry.
- HR & Payroll — Employee master, salary slabs and salary approval.
Why Blood Banks Rely On It
Every bag carries its full history from donor to issue, and the statutory registers are generated from that same chain rather than maintained alongside it.
- Full traceability from donor through component to recipient
- Camp management for outdoor collection drives
- Permission matrix across clinical and administrative roles
- Scheduled jobs for expiry and inventory checks
In Short
- Full traceability — Donor through collection, testing, component and issue.
- Camp management — Blood donation camp data upload.
- Permission matrix — Per-user role and permission control.
- Job scheduling — Recurring and one-time background jobs.
Built On
Where It Is Heading
- Moving to .NET 11
Relite Blood Bank currently runs on the .NET Framework. A migration to .NET 11 is planned, delivering a supported runtime, materially better performance and modern deployment options.
Known migration work: this is the largest migration in the portfolio. ASP.NET WebForms has no direct successor on modern .NET, so the user interface will be rebuilt on ASP.NET Core, and the RDLC/ReportViewer statutory registers replaced. The business and data layers carry across. We would sequence this as a staged rebuild rather than a lift-and-shift.
